Sterling (Feb. 27, 2014) – Dominion High School celebrated earlier this month eight athletes that have signed or committed to play at the collegiate level.
After a record breaking season, the Titans varsity football program had four Titans sign their NLI. Offensive lineman Evan Ferguson is reuniting with former teammate Matt Valenzuela to play for Division 1 St. Francis in Pennsylvania. Mike Christ, defensive end/Center, signed with Division 1 Monmouth University. Defensive tackle Yazeed Atariwa committed to play for University of Toledo (Division 1) this coming fall. Division 3, Christopher Newport University has signed Justin Lyles as a running back/H-Back for the 2014 season.
The Titans girls soccer program is sending off three varsity players to the collegiate level. Rebecca Angerome, goalie for Dominion committed to play for Shenandoah University as a Division 3 athlete. Katherine Strycharz will be playing at Carnegie Mellon University. Defender Elysse Branton committed play for Division 1 William & Mary this coming fall. Branton verbally committed to William & Mary during her junior year.
And still in the playoffs, heading to Danville tonight as the boys basketball team takes on George Washington in the 4A North semifinals, Tony Richardson will be playing for the California University of Pennsylvania next year as a Division 2 athlete.
