William and Mary women’s soccer freshman Elysse Branton was selected to attend the U.S. Soccer U19 Women’s National Team Training Camp in April.
Branton will head to Carson, California to train along side some of the best players in the country in her age group from April 11-18. This is the first-ever U19 training camp, and the newly created age group.
The Sterling, Virginia native appeared in 17 games, making 15 starts during her first campaign with the Green and Gold. She finished the season with three assists and three points, while helping the Tribe defense to six shutouts. For her efforts, she earned a spot on the Colonial Athletic Association All-Rookie squad.
Branton is not the only Tribe connection with US Women’s Soccer. Former player Jill Ellis ‘88 is the current head coach of the US Senior Women’s National Team.
In Elysse’s first year with the Tribe she was named to the CAA All-Rookie squad, a defender, she helped the Tribe backline to six shutouts last season.
