EMU’s basketball women have been well-rewarded in the postseason conference honors, as three women have been named All-ODAC. It’s the highest number of Royals players honored since they had four in 2013-14.
One of the top scoring teams in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, Eastern Mennonite has three women in the top 17 in the ODAC in scoring. The trio were the three voted All-ODAC by the league’s coaches.
Tuscarora Alumni and EMU Freshman Chloe Roach (Leesburg, Va./Tuscarora) made an immediate impact, scoring 20 points against nationally-ranked Christopher Newport in her first collegiate game. She was named to the All-ODAC Third Team and was just one of two freshmen among the 18 players honored by the conference. Roach scored in double figures in all but four of her games, including 20 or more six times. Her 16.0 scoring clip is sixth in the ODAC, but the multi-dimension guard is also sixth in the ODAC with 60 steals and seventh with 86 assists. Roach set career highs with 30 points and nine assists in the regular season finale against Lynchburg.
With just three upperclassmen on the roster, Eastern Mennonite went 17-7 in the regular season, including 12-4 in the ODAC. The Royals are the No. 4 seed thes ODAC Tournament.
