ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University baseball senior and Broad Run graduate outfielder Andrew Seigel has been named a Valley League All-Star.
Seigel, who is playing for the Aldie Senators in summer league, is batting .424 this summer with 25 hits, 12 runs scored, 10 RBI and nine stolen bases. His batting average leads the Valley League at the halfway mark by 20 points and he ranks in the top 10 in stolen bases.
The Valley League All-Star game will take place July 12 on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. All-star festivities will get underway at 3:30 p.m. July 12 with batting practice followed by a 60-yard dash competition and home run derby. First pitch of the all-star game will be at 7:30 p.m.
Seigel has helped the Senators to a 13-12 mark as they sit 1.5 games out of first place in the North Division of the Valley League.
The Ashburn, Virginia has continued his fine play after a spring that saw him bat .358 with 14 extra-base hits, 43 runs scored and 19 steals for Concord. Seigel also posted a fielding percentage of .993 in committing just one error in 137 chances.
