Carter attended Briar Woods High School in Ashburn, Va., where he recorded over 1,000 all-purpose yards. He was also named the Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year in 2011, and in 2012 was selected to play in the U.S. Army All American Bowl.
Carter graduated in 2012 and headed to Stanford University (Calif.), where he continued to put up impressive numbers on the field.
