LYNCHBURG, Va. (July 25, 2015) – Senior Kristina Karagiorgis was recognized as the Pitcher of the Year while junior Courtney Bogan received first team honors when the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) released the College Division All-State Softball team Thursday.
Karagiorgis earned All-State Pitcher of the Year honors for the second-straight year after having been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Pitcher of the Year earlier in the season. Her stellar senior campaign saw her earn First Team All-Region and All-American accolades. She led the team with 16 wins, going 16-4 in the circle. Her 0.65 ERA led the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and placed her third in the nation in that category. She also finished second in all of Division III with a 9.50 strikeouts per seven innings average while surrendering just 3.46 hits per contest, the second-best mark in the nation.
