Aldie, VA (December 22, 2016) – Entering his Tuesday, December 20th home game against Manassas Park, John Champe’s Dominik Fragala needed only 8-points to record 1,000 points in his high school basketball career. After all the dribble-drives, baby jumpers, and 3-point buckets, points 999 and 1,000 came from the charity stripe.
Fragala scored 306 points during his freshman and sophomore years at Bishop O’Connell, 475 points last year as a junior with John Champe, and has opened his senior campaign on fire. He has scored 249 points through five games to average 41.5 points per game.
Dominik’s scoring onslaught includes a 63-point performance in a double-overtime win against crosstown rival Freedom. It was the most points scored in a VHSL basketball game since 1984. Fragala’s 28-30 free throws that game were the 2nd most in VHSL history. He then followed-up that performance with a 52-point spot in a 102-101 victory against Briar Woods.
