Ashburn, VA (January 12, 2015) In Conference 14, both Tuscarora and Potomac Falls notched wins in their first conference games. Tuscarora beat Briar Woods 80 to 72 and Potomac Falls beat Freedom 75 to 46. On an overall basis, Tuscarora has the best winning percentage with a 8-2 record, but they are followed closely by Stone Bridge at 7-2, Briar Woods at 10-3. Tuscarora’s offense has been puring on the points with a 81.7 points per game average, over 11 points higher then the number two team Potomac Falls (70). However, defense wins championships and Stone Bridge is giving up a stingy 51.4 points per game, 5 points better than Freedom at 56.3. With Conference play picking up, it should be an interesting sprint to the finish.
In Conference 21, MillBrook is on top with an overall record of 11-2 and a conference record of 3-0. They also lead the conference with 67.9 points per game. While Loudoun County is bouncing along in the middle of the pack with an overall record of 6-5, they win the games that matter and sit in second place in the Conference with a 3-1 record. Dominion sits in third at 2-1.
In Conference 28, John Champe is at the top of the heap with an overall record of 9-2 and a perfect conference record of 4-0. William Monroe is close behind with a 8-3 overall record and 3-0 in Conference. Loudoun Valley is another team that wins the games that count, posting a 4-8 overall record but they are 3-1 in Conference. Loudoun Valley’s losses have come at the hands of most of the Conference 14 teams
