Loudoun County, Va. (August 25, 2014) – Dr. Eric Doyle, a chiropractor with Palmercare Chiropractic of Sterling, presented Jennifer M. Scott, the principal of Sterling Elementary, with a $10,000 donation for the Loudoun County Public Schools’ Backpack Coalition Program in a brief ceremony held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, in front of the school.
The Palmercare donation will benefit the Backpack Coalition Program feeding students attending Sterling Elementary.
Also presenting a $10,000 donation was Karen Schaufeld of 100WomenStrong, which has committed to match each dollar donated to the Loudoun Education Foundation in support of the Backpack Coalition and Loudoun’s children in need up to $100,000.
“In order to ensure that our students who are food insecure have all of the food they need for the weekend, we rely on the Backpack Coalition Program,” said Scott. “Our backpack program has grown since the start of last year, when we provided meals for 20 families, to almost 70 families this school year. We are thankful that we will be able to continue to serve our families…and potentially we can serve even more with the generous assistance of Backpack Coalition donors.”
