Loudoun County, VA (December 23, 2016) – Viva Loudoun is pleased to announce our 2016 All-Loudoun Boys Cross Country Team. The 2016 All-Loudoun Cross Boys Country Runner of the Year is Loudoun Valley junior, Peter Morris.
After winning the 2016 Loudoun County (16:14.00) and Conference 21B East Cross Country Championships (16:02.90), and placing second at the Group 4A Regional (16:09.90), Morris closed out the year strong as with a 5K personal best time of 15:14.00 to win the 2016 VHSL Group 4A Boys Cross Country State Champion. Other notable outings throughout the 2016 season include a 1st place finish at the Great Meadow Invitational (16:04.00), and 2nd place finishes at the PTXC 8 – Presented by New Balance (16:06.80), Oatlands Invitational (15:40.00), and the Third Battle Invitational (15:15.80).
“Peter is very disciplined both in his schoolwork and his running. He does all the little things that make a student-athlete successful. He eats a very healthy whole foods diet, he gets enough sleep, and these two factors allow him to train consistently, rarely missing a day due to illness or injury. Peter sets a very good example for the rest of our team. Our younger athletes are already developing similar habits and dedication to the sport.” – Joan Hunter, Loudoun Valley Cross Country Coach
Please join us in congratulating these fine student athletes!
