(Aug. 30, 2013) – School isn’t back in Loudoun County for another three days but the prep football season kicks off in a matter of minutes as 11 of the area’s 13 high schools play on the final weekend of the summer break.

Broad Run at B.T. Washington, 4 p.m.
The Skinny: Spartans look to bounce back from 2012’s 5-5 season with a road trip to the Norfolk area to play a B.T. Washington team went 3-7 last year.
Park View at Bishop Ireton, 4 p.m.
The Skinny: The Patriots look to put a winless 2012 season behind them with an opener in Alexandria against Catholic school that went 1-9 last year.
Briar Woods at Brooke Point, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: Falcons move up to 5A and start season on a 29-game winning streak!
Central-Woodstock at John Champe, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: Knights look to win first ever varsity game after 0-10 first year.
Freedom at Woodgrove, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: New Eagles coach Jared Van Acker takes his team on the road to face Woodgrove and TD-scoring machine Josh “Sweet T” Sweet
Heritage at James Wood, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: Another new coach debuts as former Millbrook coach Reed Prosser opens with the Pride just down the road from his old school
Loudoun County at Fauquier, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: The Raiders will look to follow up on the school’s best postseason in school history after they advanced to the regional finals in 2012
Potomac Falls at Dominion, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: The third new coach on the night to take the field is Panthers Jason Allen and it’s a rivalry game as the Titans host PFalls for the first of two meetings this year
Tuscarora at Kettle Run, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: It may be week one but this game will have big VHSL ratings points on the line as both teams look to make playoff runs in 2013.
